Powers and duties of officers and employees

Chief Executive Officer

NABH:

  • Chief Executive of NABH responsible for operation and management of NABH Accreditation Programs in tune with ISQua requirements.
  • Member Secretary of Governing Board.
  • Holds delegated responsibilities from the Governing Board with regard to Strategic, Operational and Financial Management.
  • Represent NABH and interact with International/ Regional Accreditation Bodies/ Organizations.
  • Interact with nationally relevant Organization likes Relevant Ministries/ Departments of Government of India, State Governments, Industry Associations etc. and participate in their meetings or delegate such responsibilities to other officers.
  • Initiate necessary actions for formulation of accreditation programs in new areas of accreditation.
  • Constitute and Recommend Chairman, NABH for constituting such Committees as required for smooth operation of the program.
  • Initiate appropriate actions for maintaining Agreements with foreign countries on the subject of healthcare accreditation.
  • Represent NABH on Boards and committees both at national and international level.
  • Approve NABH documents.
  • Report to Chairman, NABH on the functioning of all the programs.

NABET:

  • Overall responsibility o f the operations of the Board
  • Implementing the objectives of the Board in line with the laid down vision
  • Identifying emerging and new areas where Board should focus
  • Formulation of Strategies for collaboration and MoUs
  • Streamlining NABET day to day activities for smooth functioning of the Board
  • Representing NABET at National and International Forums
  • Represent NABET and interact with International/ Regional Accreditation Bodies / Organizations
  • Interactions with nationally relevant Organizations like Ministries/ Departments of Government of India, State Governments, Industry Associations etc. and participate in their meetings or delegate such responsibilities to others
  • To ensure effective handling of all complaints, RTI’s Court cases
  • Handling all HR related issues pertaining to development, training and compensation to Staff
  • Staff appraisal
  • Initiate necessary actions for formulation of accreditation programs in new areas of accreditation
  • Constitute and recommend Chairman, NABET for constituting such committee as required for smooth operations of the program
  • Approval of NABET Documents
  • Report to Chairman, NABET on the functioning of all the programs
  • Inputs to the Council and Board in framing and Review of  Policies of the Board

Director

NABH:

  • Assist in operation and management of Accreditation Program as assigned by CEO from time to time.
  • Member Secretary of Committees as decided by CEO and Board from time to time.
  • Represent and interact with nationally relevant Organization likes Relevant Ministries/ Departments of Government of India, State Governments, Industry Associations etc. and participate in their meetings as assigned by CEO.
  • Organize Education Programs including developing of educational material, identifying of resource faculty, in support of various accreditation programs within NABH.
  • Initiate and formalizing Tie Ups with Patient Safety Global Organizations as support to accreditation programs and to accredited HCOs
  • Promoting patient safety in collaboration with industry leaders.
  • Initiate necessary actions for formulation, maintenance and review of technical documents.
  • Recommend CEO, NABH for constituting such Committees as required for smooth operation of the program
  • Setup and maintain system to facilitate the monitoring of managerial and clinical outcomes by accredited HCOs.
  • Support to CEO in ensuring that sufficient assessors are available and in monitoring performance of assessors.
  • Support to CEO in conduct of refresher training programs and dissemination of current information to assessors.
  • Ensure availability of required documents to HCOs.
  • Ensure updating of website.
  • Handle and monitor complaints and appeals
  • Any other delegated responsibility by CEO
  • Report to CEO on the functioning of the programs

Advisor

NBQP

  • Conduct programs for promotion/ development of schemes
  • Plan for development of Division
  • Interaction with Government and other Stakeholders
  • Initiate necessary action for formulation of technical documents
  • Recommend Director ( Division) for formulation of necessary committees for smooth functioning of the division
  • Liaise with Director ( Division) on day to day functioning of division
  • Report Director (Division), CEO on the performance of the Division

NABH

  • Assist CEO in operation and management of Selected Accreditation Programs, as decided by CEO.
  • Member Secretary of Committees as decided by CEO and Board from time to time.
  • Represent and interact with nationally relevant Organization likes Relevant Ministries/ Departments of Government of India, State Governments, Industry Associations etc. and participate in their meetings as assigned by CEO.
  • Represent NABH and interact with International/ Regional Accreditation Bodies/ Organizations.
  • Initiate necessary actions for formulation of technical documents.
  • Recommend CEO, NABH for constituting such Committees as required for smooth operation of the program
  • Liaise with Director of concerned program on day to day functioning
  • Initiate and Review NABH documents.
  • Setup and maintain system to facilitate that the schedules are kept for accreditation activities.
  • Ensure sufficient assessors are available for the accreditation programs allotted by CEO and monitor performance of assessors.
  • Conduct refresher training programs and dissemination of current information to assessors.
  • Report to CEO, NABH on performance of Quality System and programs.

Deputy Director/ Deputy Advisor ( Common for All Divisions)

Common for All Divisions

  • To maintain all decisions regarding granting, maintaining, reviewing, suspending and withdrawing of Accreditation of the respective Division
  • Assisting Joint Director, Director in Replying to all RTIs and handling of court cases
  • Assisting Joint Director, Director in handling cases related to  complaints and appeals
  • Assisting Joint Director, Director in  day to day activities of the Division
  • Monitor the progress of the Division and keep the seniors posted on the market developments
  • Report to Joint Director, Director, CEO, NABET on the functioning of all the programs

Assistant Director/ Consultant /Assistant Advisor/Accreditation Officer

Common for All Divisions

  • Processing of new applications including scrutiny of application form, application fees and required documents in line with the scheme of division
  • Propose assessment team for assessment and briefing them
  • Coordinate the assessment process with the applicants and Assessors
  • Scrutiny of assessment report for compliance with the procedure
  • Communication of non –conformances and observations to applicant
  • Scrutiny of compliance report received from applicants
  • Preparing and putting up cases for accreditation/ review etc to different committees
  • Lead the team of the Executive Trainee/ Executive and Executive Officer
  • Assist the seniors in preparing replies to legal requirements
  • Maintaining software and database of schemes
  • Ensure adherence to the NABET processes
  • Preparation/ issue of Accreditation Certificate
  • Conducting / Coordinating Surveillance / Re – Assessment as per schedule
  • Respond appropriately to any query related to NABET
  • Interact with relevant organization and participate in their meetings as assigned by reporting officer from time to time
  • Conducting and coordinating Assessor Training program
  • Updation and maintenance of website
  • Provide input and feedback for the improvement of functioning of the program
  • Any other responsibility assigned by reporting officer from time to time

NABH (Assistant Director)

  • Processing of new applications including scrutiny of application form, application fees and required documents in line with documented policies & procedures, and ISQua requirements.
  • Propose assessment team for assessment and briefing them.
  • Co-ordinate the Assessment process with HCO & Assessors.
  • Scrutiny of the Assessment report for compliance with the procedure.
  • Communicating the Non-Conformities to the HCO and Scrutiny of compliance of Non-Conformities as reported by the HCO.
  • Preparation of final report and presentation to the Accreditation Committee.
  • Preparation/ issue of Accreditation Certificate.
  • Conducting/ Co-coordinating Surveillance/ Re-assessment as per schedule.
  • Processing and keeping an account of payment to be made to the assessors and by the HCOs to NABH.
  • Respond appropriately to any query related to NABH.
  • Member Secretary of Committees as decided by CEO from time to time.
  • Interact with relevant organization and participate in their meetings as assigned by reporting officer from time to time.
  • Conducting and Coordinating Assessor training programs.

  • Maintaining files of the applicant pertaining to the scheme
  • Day to day operation of the assigned division
  • Processing of applications
  • Answering day to day queries

NABH (Executive Officer and Assistant)

  • Allotting Customer Registration No. to applicant HCO and maintaining its records.
  • Preparation of Accreditation Certificates and scope of accreditation.
  • Maintaining and updating records pertaining to Accreditation Certificates –dates of issue & expiry and scope of accreditation of the HCOs etc.
  • Maintaining and updating records and data for applicant and accredited HCO.
  • Sale and Issue of documents and maintenance of inventory in a way to ensure availability of printed documents at all times.
  • Maintaining and updating records and data for Board Members, Committee Members and Assessors.
  • Coordinate and support accreditation programs, awareness programs and assessor courses.
  • Preparation of certificates issued for assessor training, awareness program etc.
  • Provide inputs and feedback for the improvement of functioning of the program.
  • Any other responsibility assigned by Reporting Officer from time to time.
