This case study discusses how Six sigma methodology was employed in Design, Development and supply of Cost effective and Customer centric Training Aggregates, resulting in Quality & Customer satisfaction. In this era of competition, satisfaction and delighting of customer is the main challenge particularly when the issues are related to quality and value for money. Design & development of Cost effective and Customer centric Training Aggregates which will assimilate the information is one of important tasks of progressive organizations. When these aggregates are placed in the training centres, they create the general awareness of the equipment functionality and its features and provides the information about the complete system with its accessories connected in operational mode and also increases the ease of operation & maintenance of the equipment. This is a novel way of training the Tri service personnel with the help of visual graphics and near to real simulated models. These aggregates increase the ability of trainees to troubleshoot, fault finding, component identification and reduce the mean time to repair & response time to defect. They also help the trainers to streamline, strengthen and ease their teaching capability. Training Aggregates include: Charts, Slides, Brochures, Work modules, Blowup Diagrams, Videos film and Computer Based Training (CBT). CBT (English & Hindi) and video films are asynchronous training aids and help the trainees without the instructor’s help. The case study started with identifying the Customers’ needs (VOC) & Customers’ mind (MOC), market, goals, constraints and goals. CTQ & SIPOC tools were utilized for prioritizing and further marking of the Customers’ requirements and to define the problem. Affinity diagram & relationship diagrams helped to identify & diagnose the causes and to segregate into defects. Data was collected to access the present process capability. Fishbone (Cause & Effect diagram) helped to find out the root causes. Brain storming, Standarization, Robust design, Concept and source selection, Trimming technique, Trial implementation, detailed product design were followed. Standard operating procedures and Check list were introduced for Sustaining the gains.
