Growth is the New Normal, backed by Quality it will propel India to Untouched Heights
In the years following the pandemic, the Indian economy has experienced a transformative shift, marking a departure from traditional economic patterns. This paradigm shift revolves around the idea that growth is no longer an exception but rather the new normal for India, defying the global trend of stagnated economies.
One of the key drivers of India’s newfound economic trajectory is the series of reforms and policies implemented to foster growth. Initiatives such as UPI, PLI Scheme, PM Svanidhi, PM Gati Shakti, etc. have created a conducive environment for businesses to thrive irrespective of size, encouraging investments and entrepreneurship.
The government’s strategic emphasis on developing robust transportation networks, smart cities, airports, multi-modal transport hubs, RRTS, and digital infrastructure not only enhances connectivity but also significantly reduces logistics costs, fostering a more business-friendly environment.
The government’s focus on quality is set to establish a foundation of reliability, bolstering consumer trust and satisfaction, both domestically and globally. It will enhance competitiveness, attracting investments and fostering innovation. Moreover, a commitment to quality control aligns with international standards, facilitating smoother trade relationships and opening doors to global markets.
Quality extends beyond product and service control; it encompasses a broader perspective, focusing on quality of life for everyone. To ensure the new normal transcends mere economic dynamics, quality must stop being a privilege and become a tool of empowerment for every individual. It should permeate the daily lives of every Indian, bridging rural and urban landscapes. In a scenario where smart cities flourish, so do smart villages, emphasising not just development of quality cities, but also creation of quality villages and towns.
In this regard, I’m pleased with the role that the Quality Council of India plays, covering various aspects of Quality of Life such as health, education, skilling, MSME support, etc. While NABH is rapidly working to ensure patient safety and care, NABL is ensuring pathological and diagnostic accuracy. NABET is dedicated to ensuring the quality of education, and TCB is focusing on capacity building.
By engaging in diverse projects, QCI ensures the quality of life through cleanliness, water availability, skilling, administrative reforms, etc. Additionally, the ZED scheme is helping small businesses become more competitive, while ONDC is empowering them to sell products nationwide and actively participate in India’s economic resurgence. These concerted efforts are poised to be instrumental in propelling India’s economy from its current 5th position to a formidable 3rd place in the next five years.
The confluence of policy reforms and quality consciousness will position India on a trajectory where growth is not just an aspiration but an intrinsic part of the economic narrative. As India continues to tread the Kartavya Path in its Gaurav Kaal, the new normal of growth will only get better with strong leadership at the helm of the state and lead to the dream of Viksit Bharat 2047.
