On 13th June 2023, we embarked on a transformative journey with the Sarpanch Samvaad, featuring a distinguished group of 17 Sarpanch representatives hailing from various regions across the nation. We had the honor of engaging with some of the finest sarpanchs from across India, bringing together wisdom, leadership, and a shared vision for our communities.

The primary objective of this event was to initiate a transformative process for Indian villages, aiming to elevate them to the status of “Quality Villages.” The Sarpanchs deliberated upon significant challenges confronting their respective villages and shared their success stories as well as best practices in improving the livelihood of their communities. During the event, a wide range of issues impacting Panchayat Raj Institutions were discussed. The Sarpanchs shared their valuable insights on successful governance practices that they have implemented in their own villages. Some notable examples of these practices included the establishment of Balika Panchayats, abuse free villages, initiatives such as Beti Padhao (with financial incentives), engagement of unemployed youth, the adoption of digital smart village concepts, and the introduction of different financial schemes aimed at improving the well-being of girl children and their families, among others.
Concluding the event, the Sarpanchs collectively recommended key measures for improvement, namely enhancing monitoring practices within the government apparatus and fostering the development of a robust and comprehensive panchayat system throughout India.
Our First Stop on State Journey was Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.
Continuing our journey, on 22nd July 2023, we found ourselves amidst the colorful and vibrant lands of Rajasthan, with our destination being the renowned village of Piplantri.
This gathering was made even more special with the presence of Shyam Sunder Paliwal Ji, a distinguished Padma Shri awardee and the ex-sarpanch of Piplantri village. His dedication and visionary leadership have not only transformed his village but have also served as a beacon of hope for countless others. With 24 sarpanchs in attendance, the event, organized by Shyam Sunder Paliwal Ji himself, facilitated enriching discussions, allowing us to delve deep into the challenges and successes of rural leadership.
Beyond the dialogue, we had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the remarkable developments and initiatives that have taken root in Piplantri under his guidance. The village stands as a testament to what can be achieved when passion meets purpose.
